Memory Lane -- Wollongong Part 1
I took the 10:21am train to Wollongong and reached there at about 12 plus. There wasn't any express train, so I took the lesser stops. I dozed off a bit during the few stops, haven't got enough sleep. So I aligned at North Wollongong station and took the free shuttle to uni -- yes there is a free shuttle now. Nice! :D
I stopped at the bus stop just outside the recreational and sport center, had a quite browse then walking through the Health and Behavioural Department and took a detour to admin building across McKinnon Building, which is the biggest lecture room in UOW. I then walked back towards the Arts Building and Communication center before finally stopping at the brand new luxury Library which is now linked to the computer lab. WOW!! It was so grand!! I went to my fave corner of the libray and took pic there.
I then continued my journey to unicenter and stopped for my memoribilia shopping at the unishop. I settled in with one tee, one short, lanyard, two bumper stickers, magnet, two pens, key chain and reuseable bag. I wanted to get the UOW graduation bear for the Bachelor of Arts, but it was sold out from last week's graduation. Sigh!! :(
After that I grabbed lunch at the unibar, which was the only one open before heading to Kooloobong .. my 'home' for 2 years. The weather was hot with a little breeze, so not bad. I went pass Hope Theater which is under construction. UOW is really expending. Not only Hope Theater is currently under construction but also the IT Building located at the entrance of uni. Awesome!
Done with the uni reminiscing, I boarded the No. 11 bus to the mall, which cost $1.80 back then, now it's $3.20. Tsk tsk! I didn't get the chance to go to Campus East, maybe tomorrow when we get the rental car, should be easier.
Will continue the blog entry later .. it's now 1am, and I still haven't packed up my stuff to move to hotel tomorrow. My family is arriving tomorrow, so no more 'ME' time ... Hope I can still enjoy my time :D
Nite everyone!

Sydney
Though one thing I miss the most about Sydney is the atmosphere, having street musicians, listening to people chatting on the street and seeing people kissing in public .. which we don't get to see that in Asian countries. Plus Sydney offers the Christmas feeling with the beautiful decorations and specially today's weather is really nice. A little bit breezy but it's just nice.
So today was basically about getting back the familiarity so I know the way around when my family comes and reminiscing the old times.
Meeting Brian again after almost 8 years and Pat after 10 years was surreal .. we've been friends for almost 12 years and it was amazing. The Lin's brothers have been a family to me. So thank you guys for everything and I got to meet their girlfriends too and share the stories.
It's gonna be a good 10 days in Sydney. Too bad I can't share the photos now, gotta wait 'till I get back home.
Down Under
The initial plan was go straight to Wollongong today after arriving in Sydney, but I was too zombified, so I decided to postpone to tomorrow and roaming around the city today after re-charging my sleeping time.
I'm currently at Brian's house and about the head out to enjoy the weather and the city. The weather is just nice. Not too hot and not too cold .. a good summer day of 25 degrees.
Have a good day people.

Wishing you an early Merry Christmas
This comes in the email today ... realizing that Christmas is just around the corner and this would be my first Christmas away since I started working almost 7 years ago.
This should be my 2nd or 3rd Christmas in Sydney 'cos I always went home for Christmas holiday during my uni days. Well, at least this time I get to experience Christmas period in winter :)
Anyway, have a great Christmas holiday. Hope you have a great one ..

New Look
This is the new library. Nice!! The old library was old and dark and now look at those windows ..
The 2nd new building is the Health and Medical Reseach Institute (it was used to be called Health and Behavioural Department) located just opposite the Recretional Centre, which it was already one of the most spanky building on campus, and now look how it turns out .. WOW!!
Seriously, I will be having trouble reminiscing my moments with such a short period of time. I miss you W'Gong ..
Joey McIntyre
Baby Joey grown up good :D
Joey McIntyre is the youngest member of the New Kids on the Block and it seems though they are now reunited, Joey is still the most existing member with the singing career.
This is his latest single 'Here We Go Again' -- Looking good Joey.

In one month time
Now I can only hope for big fat bonus for the new year.
Time for Miracles
Time for Miracles by Adam Lambert the runner up of 8th Season American Idol is the theme song for the movie 2012. Very nice song indeed .. the movie was alright though, it was scary at the beginning specially if you imagine the reality, but towards the end it got boring and too Hollywood.
It's late at night and I can't sleep
Missing you just runs too deep
Oh I can't breathe thinking of your smile
Every kiss I can't forget
This aching heart ain't broken yet
Oh God I wish I could make you see
Cuz I know this flame isn't dying
So nothing can stop me from trying
Baby you know that
Maybe it's time for miracles
Cuz I ain't giving up on love
You know that
Maybe it's time for miracles
Cuz I ain't giving up on love
No I ain't giving up on us
I just wanna be with you
Cuz living is so hard to do
When all I know is trapped inside your eyes
The future I cannot forget
This aching heart ain't broken yet
Oh God I wish I could make you see
Cuz I know this flame isn't dying
So nothing can stop me from trying
Baby you know that
Maybe it's time for miracles
Cuz I ain't giving up on love
You know that
Maybe it's time for miracles
Cuz I ain't giving up on love
No I ain't giving up on us
Baby can you feel it (feel it)
http://www.elyricsworld.com/time_for_miracles_lyrics_adam_lambert.html
You know I can hear it (hear it)
So can you feel me feel you....
You know it's time....
Baby you know that
Maybe it's time for miracles
Cuz I ain't giving up on love
You know that
Maybe it's time for miracles
Cuz I ain't giving up on love
You know I ain't giving up on us
You know I ain't giving up on
Oh I ain't giving up on us

Inspiration
LEEHOM
what i've learnt from this dude,
is that despite being on TOP of his game,
being such a mega superstar that he is,
despite landing endless commercials and gigs,
he works hard.
there is nothing very mysterious about success,
especially when i get this close to leehom.
true, his good looks, luck, talent all played a part, 天时地利人和blah blah blah,
but if you can stick through it,
re-invent yourself and remain an artiste for more than 10 years and still be as big,
it all boils down to hard work.
so we've all heard the statistic, he's been to 29 cities within 40 days,
endless 商业演出, he's swimming in piles of money,
but he ain't partying.
after his ION gig in Singapore, we hung out till late,
and the next morning he flew back to Taipei immediately for a huge open-air show to about 60000 people at night.
and there i was lounging in my house the whole day,
and I watched the Taiwan news on TV in amazement:
Wow, he's sporting exactly the same hair, and wasn't he just here with me less than a day ago?
How can someone so effectively maximise his time spent everyday?
And he'll be directing his own movie very soon, and starring in it as well -
it's a personal project that he made come true,
something totally different than what he's used to (making albums)
and definitely taxing,
but it will bring his career to a whole new level.
this is kewei's own words of success ...
Have you ever wondered,
everyone's partying, having supper, watching the movies, having a good time.
Everyone's trying to schedule their time to meet friends, packing their social calendar to the brim,
I had a wild thought that I don't want to be like everyone.
I want to succeed.
Not many people succeed, the ones who do,
are not like everyone else.
The ones who succeed are different from everyone else,
they subscribe to a different lifestyle,
they work extra hard.
Being successful is just a place not many people get to -
it filters the hard worker from the insanely hard working ones.
Like so many other people, for many different reasons,
he's gonna be my role model for now.
I won't be able to reach where he is now, but if I can get close,
it would be darn remarkable.
* Personal note: this is the main reason why I love and adore him so much. No doubt he has a very nice looking, but despite all the outside appearance, he is always this hardworking, talented, humble and kind person. What an inspiration indeed .. I'm honoured to have meet him personally and honoured to be his fan.

40th Anniversary Sesame Street
Sesame Street is celebrating its 40th Anniversary today ... Google teamed up with Sesame Street on making the Google doodle theme. Like this for example ..
I don't particular grew up with Sesame Street 'cos I don't like it the fact that it was dubbed into Bahasa, which is weird. But Sesame Street accompanied me through many mornings back in Australia. My breakfast was always with Big Bird, Elmo, Erni and Bert and many other characters through Austar in my living room back in Kooloobong.
No doubt I forever will have a little kid inside of me :D
So Happy Anniversary Sesame Street .. and the words are out .. Michelle Obama will be guest in the 41st season. Sweet!! :D
Elmo lover or not must watch this .. this clip was taken during Elmo's first visit in Australia - Rove Live in 2006. So cute!! :D
Christmas Time is Near
Starbucks has started their Christmas drinks - Dark Cherry Mocha and Toffee Nut yesterday. I had my first Toffee Nut yesterday and accompanied me throughout the afternoon while I dealt with files audit. Hmmm .. yummo!! Time flew .. it's Christmas Time again ..
While at it .. it means Thanksgiving is even closer. Let's start out giving thanks for everything we have achieved this year.

History
So yeah people .. create your own history everyday :D
He got kicked in the back
He say that he needed that
He hot willed in the face
Keep daring to motivate
He say one day you will see
His place in world history
He dares to be recognized
The fires deep in his eyes
How many victims must there be
Slaughtered in vain across the land
And how many struggles must there be
Before we choose to live the prophet's plan
Everybody sing...
Every day create your history
Every path you take you're leaving your legacy
Every soldier dies in his glory
Every legend tells of conquest and liberty
Don't let no one get you down
Keep movin' on higher ground
Keep flying until
You are the king of the hill
No force of nature can break
Your will to self motivate
She say this face that you see
Is destined for history
How many people have to cry
The song of pain and grief across the land
And how many children have to die
Before we stand to lend a healing hand
Everybody sing...
Every day create your history
Every path you take you're leaving your legacy
Every soldier dies in his glory
Every legend tells of conquest and liberty
Every day create your history
Every page you turn you're writing your legacy
Every hero dreams of chivalry
Every child should sing together in harmony
All nations sing
Let's harmonize all around the world
How many victims must there be
Slaughtered in vain across the land
And how many children must we see
Before we learn to live as brothers
And leave one family oh...
Every day create your history
Every path you take you're leaving your legacy
Every soldier dies in his glory
Every legend tells of conquest and liberty
Every day create your history
Every page you turn you're writing your legacy
Every hero dreams of chivalry
Every child should sing together in harmony

Michael Jackson - This is It
I heard news about this movie but I wasn't planning to watch it until yesterday when it was released ... I wanna see what the fuss about. And I'm glad I did, it was awesome. I think I got multiple goosebumps throughout the movie. It felt like watching the real concert on VIP seat .. it felt like he was still alive. It felt like we are all still waiting for the concert to actually happen.
It was the first movie I ever watched that all the audiences were singing along and clapping as if it was the real concert.
I was never MJ's fan, though I grew up listening to his songs like Beat It, Billie Jean, Thriller, Black or White, Earth Song, Man in the Mirror and long time fave Heal the World and many more. Honestly I don't own any of his CDs but I like lots of his song and I always admire his works and how he really care about the world. And Neverland ... still amazed me!
His sudden death last June, just moments away from his Final Curtain Call concert in title of "THIS IS IT" in London after 10 years absentee took the world by surprise. His adoring fans were devastated, the world seemed to stop all of sudden. There are also lots of "new sudden" fans. No one wanted to believe the news but yet it was true. The King of Pop has gone.
This is it basically tells us about the journey of the concert preparations. Countless hours of rehearsal of dancing, singing, visual effect to make 13 July perfect. It would have been one hell of concert if it happened. The rehearsal itself was already amazing .. he took part on every details made for the concert and he of course know everything about his works, so if one musician made some improvisation which doesn't suit him, he'll know immediately.
This movie also tells us the other side of MJ. All this while, we, the fans and audiences can only see the outcome of his works, Michael Jackson the superstar -- but we never actually see the preparations, what MJ liked in his normal days. These footage were meant for MJ's personal library - but in remembering what a great artist he was, Kenny Ortega - the director and MJ's best friend for many years decided to take these as something to remember MJ by. The movie will only be aired for 2 weeks around the world.
My opinion after watching this movie is .. MJ is just another human being who wanted to share what he loves best to the world, to his loving fans. He was a humble musician who didn't like to be praised. Everything he did was simply out of love and for love ..
I may not be fan then and I may not be fan now .. but no doubt MJ was .. is .. still the biggest influence in the world of music. It was totally an honor and priviledge for those who were able to be part of MJ's life and music journey.
MJ, you may be gone too soon but your spirit carries on ..

Amazing Aerial Photos
Click here to see more amazing and incredible photos.
I guess I have always fascinated with amazing and beautiful photos, scenic photos have always been my fave since I took photography class back in high school, perhaps that was one of the reasons I took it too -- plus my dad was a photographer graduated from Germany. But I've never further pursued it 'cos I wasn't patience and creative enough to capture those beautiful things and the equipments are so expensive. So I just settled with enjoying those amazing photos.
Product and model photos don't impress me much .. live events (no blood, reptile, accident what-soever involved though) and specially scenery like those pics above are the ones which take my breath away.
Do I need to say more?! Just simply amazing!

Random-ness
1. Soft toy -- Scrump and Care Bears. I bought these 2 cuties on my last day in SG .. both bday gifts for my friends. For those who don't know who Scrump is, Scrump is Lilo's doll which she sew from fabric. Well, this one is the cuter version of the actual Scrump, the actualy Scrump looks a bit scary (sorry Cyn ;p) but she loves her so much :D
1. Music-Man Concert Figurines
2. Music-Man DVD Taiwan Version with the MM figurines
3. And of course, I'm looking forward for my Aussie trip end of this year. Yay!! Can't wait!!
My flight is confirmed, but still need to apply for visa and arrange accommodation for my family. My accommodation is pretty much fixed though. Also need to plan where to take them and stuffs. Hopefully we have enough time to explore big parts of Aussie-land. Opera House is a must.
Last part of the this random-ness post .. please meet my new 19' monitor at work :D Sweet huh?! LH relaxing with his coffee enjoying the view.

Caught in the Act
This was just one of few scenes that our faces caught in the MM DVD .. :) Pheww, at least I wasn't doing something crazy, I was enjoying the moment. Good thing about sitting on Row 1, we were prohibited to record and snap with camera, so we got to enjoy every second of the concert.
I have yet to watch the DVD, I'll get my copy today.
Thanks LHTHFC for the capture :D

Sampai ke Ujung Dunia
I don't really listen to many of Indo songs, I totally lost track of new singers and bands. I know some of new songs from radio. This is one of good song I like .. it has nice and simple tune and good lyrics. "Sampai ke Ujung Dunia" by Dirly. I personally like the piano and guitar in the song.
Dirly was the runner up of Indonesian Idol Season 3 (2006). His voice is much better than the winner.
Cinta ini menggelisahkan aku
Membuat aku gila
Andai kita terpisah
Mati rasa-rasaku
Cinta ini membodohkan aku
Menutup akal sehatku
Andai engkau tak disisi
Risau isi jiwaku
Reff:
Selama kau belum jadi milikku yang utuh
Aku akan selalu milikimu
Selama bumi masih akan terus berputar
Aku akan slalu menujumu
Walau ke ujung dunia
Cinta ini membodohkan aku
Menutup akal sehatku
Andai kita terpisah
Mati rasa-rasaku

Personal Creation
I've been to SG for so many times, I had no idea what to give them from each of my trip .. from fridge magnets, keychains, chocolate, you named it. So I thought this time I give something different. I thought of it since the day I decided for the trip.
So I bought the wood frame at IKEA and decorated them individually .. the pic was taken on Mba Git's Birthday in May and ta da .. there you go. It's nothing fancy, but the thought that counts right beside I had fun doing it :D
Lebaran Cookies
So I was looking through stardreamer's blog today and found this .. she was just telling us about how she enjoys cooking and baking now. This is it 'Chocolate Crunch Cookies' .. YUMMO! Me love cookies.

The Proposal
And Ryan Reynolds .. hmmm .. he is yummy. I've never actually noticed him as this gorgeous and hot guy :) I've seen his early works from TV series Two Guys, a Girl and Pizza place back in 1998. He was always this goofy and not-so attractive guy playing comedy movies like Just Friends, Van Wilder, Definitely Maybe 'till he took a serious role as Wade Wilson who soon to be Deadpool in X-Men Origin: Wolverine then I started notice him ..
Anyway, The Proposal is indeed a must-see movie specially for those movie lovers .. it cracks you up but at the same time it gives romantic feeling of being in love .. love truly comes unexpected and when it comes, hold on to it or you'll lose it for good.
Here is a synopsis of the movie:
Margaret Tate (Sandra Bullock) is the executive editor-in-chief of a book publishing company, Colden Books, who forces her assistant Andrew Paxton (Ryan Reynolds) to marry her in order to avoid being deported to Canada. He grudgingly accepts, under the condition that he is promoted to the position of editor. When the government investigates, the two are forced to spend the weekend with his parents in Alaska in order to sell the lie. The family suggest they could marry the same weekend, and they reluctantly accept. They start to fall genuinely in love as they spend more and more time together. Because of this, during the wedding ceremony, Margaret decides she cannot do this to Andrew and confesses the business arrangement in front of everyone--including the immigration officer handling their case. She is then told that she has 24 hours to get back to Canada, and thus goes back to New York to pack her things. Upon doing so, however, Andrew shows up at the office and confesses his love for her in front of the entire office staff, proposing marriage all over again (taken from IMDB)
Pulang Kampung ..
This was totally take me by surprise, I did plan for a trip to Aussie in 2010 for my best friend's wedding but since this trip will be about 6 months in advance, I'm sorry B .. I guess I won't be attending your wedding, but miracle happens, so hope by then I have enough saving to go there again and witness your special day ^^
My trip this time will be a family trip .. my cousin (first grand child from my mom side) will be getting married in Hunter Valley - Wine Country, it's indeed a beautiful place. It's located about 2 hours drive North of Sydney. She has picked an awesome place, though it would be even more beautiful if she could pick in Autumn/Spring season to have her wedding instead of Summer, 'cos Summer in Australia is just too hot and dry .. anyway, this wedding would be a big reunion for my mom's family from all over the world as well, we will indeed gonna have a good time.
And surely I'll be heading down to Wollongong .. place I can still call home .. I'm so looking forward to see my friends there again and reminiscing those special moments. I'm also gonna be a tour guide for most of my family who has never been to Aussie .. Sydney and Wollongong in particular.
I really hope that 2 weeks would be enough for me to have that reminiscing feeling of being home after 7 years.

五月天 First Concert
This was my 2nd time step foot in Singapore Indoor Stadium, of course it felt different .. the first was back in Oct 2006 for Heroes of Earth concert. Back then I could feel the hype even before the concert. This time, I was looking forward for it, but at the same time I felt something missing.
As for the crowd, this MD concert was definitely smaller than LH's back then, there were still lots of empty seats but becos it was a rock concert, you can actually feel the hype-ness from the fanatic fans. There were lots of fast songs and the fans were jumping, screaming and sang along with them.
I was practically a silent audience .. other than I don't know most of the songs, the guys were all speaking in Chinese which I was lost once again, I picked up bits and bits but overall I was pretty much out there. Though one thing I like the most was during the L.O.V.E shout out and how the guys warmed the stadium, it was amazing! It was different than LH's or DT's concert.
The concert went 'till 10 mins passed midnight .. it was surely an experience. Afterwards we headed to the usual supper place MD guys always go when they are in SG, but too bad we didn't see them.
Anyway, these are the best pics I took during the concert .. and somehow I liked these, it's not close up but it shows the whole stage with all of them on it. Well, what more you could get from side seat :)
Sweet treats from Japan
Bankrupcty
My new-added collections of My Melody
And my original Season 4 of One Tree Hill .. yay!!
On my last day of the SG trip, I checked-in to the hotel and guess what there was a DVD player in the room. What could be better watching Nathan in action in a quite decent hotel room .. alone :D
