is he a designer too?

So I was just cruisin' through the mall on my way to work the other day and saw this on GAP window display -- new summer collection ... the name immediately caught my eyes.

Hmmm .. is he designer too? :D

Farewell MJ

Michael Jackson's Sudden Death at 2:26pm LA times totally shocked the world, when the world is waiting for his final curtain call concert in London on 13 July the tickets were SOLD-OUT within 1 hour of the sales. He died at the age of 50 - the milestone age from cardiac arrest on the way to hospital.

All his life, he was famous of his moonwalk, his neverending bad rumours of gay, children mollester, his marriage with Lisa-Marie Presley, all his plastic surgery, losing Neverland for some lawsuits, bleaching his skin as he doesn't like to be black and many more unbelievably crazy things and yet un-deniable he was the King of POP which his works have brought numerous inspirations and perfect examples of the current music world. Despite what he has done, he is still loved by thousand or yet millions of people all across the world.

I might not be a fan, but I grew up with his songs .. from his Jacksons Five era such us Ben, ABC, I want it Back to Bad, the phenomenal Thriller and plenty more, I do listen to his songs .. being Heal the World as my long-time fave. He has many other world-related songs which placed him into everyone's heart -- whoever they are.

Despite all the controvesy all his life, he had turned the world around with all his humanity and charity activities and he indeed one hell of talented and legendary musician of all time. No one can replace your place as King of Pop, Jacko.
"Quoted from yahoo.com ... Michael Jackson is one of the few artists in the history of the art form to be able to take one song, like "Billie Jean," and reach people of all age groups, races, and nationalities. Michael has done this time and time again for decades, as both a solo artist and member of The Jackson 5. This type of legacy cannot be erased by even the most horrible of charges and allegations. His music and performances are historic and forever engrained in our hearts."

As Dream Theater said in one of their songs .. "And if I die tomorrow, I'd be OK, because I believe that after we're gone, the spirit carries on" And it goes to you MJ, just maybe too soon .. you'll always forever be remembered for everything you've done in your 50 years of life. You've changed the world indeed .. and the legend continues.

Farewell Michael Jackson, may you Rest in Peace in the hand of God. Amen! You shall be missed by your friends, families, fans .. and the world.

1st Anniversary .. Little Big Soldier Awaits

Geez .. I totally missed out my blog's 1st Anniversary. My first post was 23 June 2008 .. it's been a year. Congrats to my blog and me for keeping this quite update, though not really. I could do better .. but hey, it's not everyday we have something extravagant to share :D

So while celebrating my 6th year with Rouse and 1st year of my blog, here is a little sneak peek of LH's upcoming movie, this was recorded from some reporter's camcorder at the gala dinner hosted by the Bona International Film Group on 14 June 2009 ..

The movie is now on its post production and scheduled to be release in October .. the story is about an old soldier (played by Jackie Chan) kidnaps the young general (played by LH) of an enemy state and takes him on a long journey to collect the reward.

Home Rules

Finally!!! I've been wanting this book since he promoted this on Oprah Show ages ago .. I think it was release back in 2005.

I got this book in hand last night, Renny got it for me from SG .. many thanks to her and thanks to Santi from delivering the book to me. YAY!! More ideas to renovate or re-decorate my room for the time being 'till I find sole source for funding me re-furbish everything :D
I don't really fond of hard-cover book, 'cos I can plastic cover it .. this should be my 5th hard-cover book.

PS. I went to check availability of this book in Barnes and Noble Website, it's now SOLD-OUT .. wow!! Well done Nate.

6 years ago .. TODAY

Another year went pass .. 6 years ago today, I landed with the 'real job' after a year graduating from uni .. here I am still, staying fit and comfortably in the zone of Rouse & Co International ..

Well done Net on yet another year of fun, stress and craziness .. but hey, I get to fulfill and achieve what I want .. travelling, watching my fave artist in concert, buying stuffs that I like .. all those goes to the craziness I went through for 6 years here ..
Note. today turns out to be EXTREMELY crazy! Somehow the night before I had intuition of cancelling my plan to meet up with the girls. How the hell I know that it was a bad intuition .. there was a sudden deadline and crazy instruction which forced me to stay 'till 9pm .. oh GOSH!! Madness .. so much for commemorating my 6th years.

122 minutes of goosebumps ..

Numerous big artists like Celine Dion, Barbra Streisand, Peter Cetera, Earth Wind & Fire, Andrea Bocceli, Babyface, Kenny G, Brian McKnight ‘till the recent one Josh Groban and Michael Buble and the newest singing sensation from the Philippines - Charice had the experience of working with this cold-hand multi-talented producer, musician, pianist and not to mention singer, holding 15 grammys – David Foster .. just a simple WOW can describe this Canadian guy.

He might not be the best singer, but he indeed has written, produced, composed countless amazing songs of all time .. After the Love Has Gone, I Have Nothing, I Will Always Love You, Because You Loved Me, Tell Him, The Prayer, the phenomenal You Raise Me Up .. just to name a few. There are lots and lots more.

I’ve been a great admired of David Foster works .. he is one musical talents in this century. I think I’ve been listening to his works for as long as I can remember. Most of the songs I’m addicted to are his works. Either it was his or co-wrote by him.
Last year, he held a special concert with title of “David Foster & Friends – You’re the Inspiration” where he collaborated with few of best performances with amazing voices and I just got the hand of the DVD .. and I tell you, it was the most 122 mins of goosebumps I’ve ever had. It was only watching from the DVD, I can’t even imagine watching the real performance LIVE.

My personal highlights of the DVD are Michael Johns version of Man in Motion, Peter Cetera with his unique voice singing the medley of Hard to Say I’m Sorry, You’re the Inspiration and Glory of Love, Andrea Bocelli and Katherine McPhee version of the The Prayer (WOW!!), the duet of Michael Buble and Blake Shelton of Home and fave of all .. duet of Josh Groban and Brian McKnight singing Bridge Over Trouble Water .. just wow!!

This is definitely a MUST-SEE and MUST-OWN DVD .. you know what I’m talking about when you see all these performances. It was breath-taking and seriously non-stop goosebumps. I’ve watched it twice over the weekend, but still I can’t stop my hair from rising up! It was that good!!

Other than releasing this DVD, he also wrote his auto-biography called “Hit Man: 40 years Making Music, Topping the Charts and winning Grammys” .. so make sure to check out your nearest book stores and CD shops for some goosebumps of the century *grin*

I hope one day Lee Hom gets to work and collaborate with David Foster .. somehow, someway, SOMEDAY!! When that happens, it’s gonna be frickin’ awesome! :D Maybe I should put that on my wish list … please Lee Hom and David, hear my voice! ;p

Personal Note: the album was mixed by Mick Guzauski who happened to did LH's last few albums .. maybe he can put good words about LH to David Foster ... hmmm, so hoping that will happen .. SOON!

Book List - added list

I've been back to reading .. this month I've finished Angels and Demons and Heath Ledger book. I'm currently reading The Secret Shopper's Revenge, the book I bought in KL last month.

I still have few of unread books that I bought while ago, but here are the new list of the books I'm gonna get.

1. Love the One You're With by Emily Giffin which I'm gonna get today after work. I was walking pass Kino last night and saw this book on 10% disc. -- GOT IT!

2. China: Land of Dragons and Emperors by Adeline Yen Mah. She has been my fave author ever since she swept me away with her true life story "Falling Leaves", so definitely A-MUST!

3. It's Called a Breakup because it's broken by Greg Behrendt. I have his later book "He's Just Not that Into You" which has been adapted to movie. I haven't read it yet as I'm waiting for the movie first. I bought the book as it was recommended by Oprah.

This book is recommended by a friend who have read the "He's Just Not that Into You" and she said this Breakup book is better.

4. Remember Me by Sophie Kinsella .. I've been quite her fan since the Shopaholic Series, but sadly enough, for a bookie like me, I only own 1 Shopaholic series, that is Shopaholic & Baby, the rest -- I borrowed from a friend. I'm planning to own all the Shopaholic Series, though I read them all but I'm thinking am I gonna waste the money to buy books that I've already read?
So while thinking of that, this book comes in list .. it's actually quite old, it was release in October 2008. And I actually saw this book during my visit to KL last week, quite cheap too but 'till last minute I didn't manage to get this book in hand.

This 2 titles are still coming soon ..

1. The Last Symbol by Dan Brown. He has 4 titles so far, that I know of -- Digital Fortress, Deception Point, The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons. But 2 of his first books are so technically advance .. I like the other two with Robert Langdon as the main character. And his upcoming book will bring back Robert Langdon as the character, so yupe I'm looking forward for 15 September 2009.

2. Best Friends Forever by Jennifer Weiner. She is famously known as the author of Devil Wears Prada. Reading for the review, it's totally a different genre with Devil Wears Prada .. it kinda gives the warm hearted feeling, so yeah, it's on the list.

Stay Real

Stay Real is Ashin's (Mayday - taiwan rock band, vocalist) clothing label featuring tees designed by him and No2Good (creative designer). So far I think the tees are available only in Taiwan and online. Price ranges from a NTD900 to NTD1100 .. so that's about Rp. 270.000 to Rp. 330.000. Pretty expensive for a tee.
I get to know Stay Real clothing design through bloodbubble - who is a major MD's fan. The design is pretty cute and they seem to have quite catchy line for their tee. They are pretty creative in creating new characters. Ashin always creates new set of design for Mayday concert tour and they are all very nice.

All this while I only get to see those stuffs and envy through her blog, until I get my hand on one of the tee myself during my visit to Taipei last year. It was my last day in Taipei, while browsing around through XiMen Ding shops, I found "I Know the Answer" tee which I saw through bloodbubble's blog.

But when I got to Taipei, this "I Know the Answer" design is already quite outdated, they no longer hold the black tee, so I settled with green colour, which is quite ok. But until now .. I have yet to wear it. The packaging is really nice, I'm so reluctant to take it out of the plastic LOL

The next design I saw on her blog was this 'Be Happy' and 'Be Rock' design, which was created for Mayday's concert tour last year. When she made plan to head to Taipei for the concert, I gotta ask her to get these 2 cute designs, it cost NTD600 each, which is not bad.

So from then onwards, I kinda become regular visit of SR blog. Just 2 days ago, I was browsing the blog and saw this new design. But when I confirm to bloodbubble, again she said it's the latest one. Hmmm .. it's been out a while. But I really like it, it comes in blue and white .. hopefully the shop still has it when she goes to Taipei again soon. "Ocean is my Boat, Sky is my Map" NICE!! :)

And .. as I'm planning to attend Mayday new concert D.N.A, this tee is on my list. Hopefully I don't get too overboard with the merchandise hunting.

Live Performances

For those who've been to concert should agree with me, that Live performances version always .. well mostly are lot better than studio version, where live version the artist tend to re-arrange the music/song and add new sound to make it better and simply match with the atmosphere.

I love what Lee Hom and David Tao did with their music in their concerts I've been .. there are numbers of songs I start to like after hearing the live version. They should release all live version on CD :D

Here is one of the many live performances Lee Hom did that surely nice to hear .. he's pretty good in "on spot" re-arrangement specially with him on piano. And I love this song ...

Aussie Meat Pie

Meat Pies are famous Aussie snack (well, it can be enjoyed as light lunch too) which of course I was introduced during my 5 years stay in the land down under. An Aussie meat pie is is a hand-sized meat pie containing largely minced meat and gravy sometimes with onion and often consumed as a takeaway food snack. And the way Aussie consume them is to put ketchup and cheese. I prefer the ketchup without cheese.

- aussie meat pie -

Today is my Aussie colleague's bday and per my personal request few months ago, he is brining Aussie meat pie made my local shop near his house for celebrating his bday. Taste-wise -- of course it's far from the REAL aussie meat pie, but not bad!
- here is the look of local "Aussie" meat pie -

Hope to taste the real Aussie meat pie again soon ..

New Moon Trailer

Yay!! New Moon Trailer is OUT .. can't wait 'till 20 November 2009. The Cullens has finally received Bella as part of the family and the conflict starts.

It's gonna quite devastating movie, one of the saddest moments in Twilight Saga, where Edward has to leave Bella for good. But it's also exciting as the Werewolf clans are introduced. Wow, how Jacob has matured up with delicious body and his transformation into Werewolf is so cool :D

It's definitely a MUST-SEE movie in 2nd half of 2009 ..

Heath 'the Joker' Ledger

After finishing the phenomenal "Angels and Demons" book - which is quite different with the movie .. this "Heath Ledger - His Beautiful Life and Mysterious Death" book is currently in hand accompany me throughout my traffic journey to and from work. I got this book a while ago, when I travelled in HK, but I just got round with it now ..
Heath Ledger is one of few Australian actors that I admire .. other than Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman and of course Mel Gibson (though he wasn't really Australian, he was born in States for American family but moved to Aussie when he was 12), but well I guess he is considered Australian.

I was introduced to Heath firstly through his Aussie Debut Movie "Two Hands" during my 2nd year of uni where I had to watch TOO MANY Aussie movies as part of my Australian Screen subject. And finally he made his first Hollywood break-out in 10 Things I Hate about You and a star was born. Followed by The Patriot (with the man Mel Gibson), A Knight's Tale, Monster's Ball, to name a few and to the most controversy movie by Ang-Lee, Brokeback Mountain .. the rest is history.

With the world at his feet, he entered the "Dark Side" of the New Batman Movie playing brilliantly as the Joker, which rumoured that his cause of death was that he couldn't take himself out of the character which forced him to take too many depression pills and took his life on 22 January 2008 in his New York Apartment leaving the big grief of Hollywood industry.

There was a worldwide shock and disbelief, where he was just reaching the top of his successful career with wife Michelle Williams whom he met on the set of Brokeback Mountain and daughter Mathilda.

However, mystery is still surrounded his death. Was the rumour true? Was it accidental? Or was it the pressure of his "new Hollywood life"?

Whatever that is .. it will forever remains as mystery and Heath Ledger will always be remembered.

My Donation ..

12 May 2009 was the first commemoration of the SiChuan Earthquake in China, where LH as the ambassador of World Vision Taiwan personally donated and visited the victims when the tragedy occured last year.

This year, in remembering those victims .. LH's official fans clubs around the world hand and hand held an auction to raise money to help children with their education.

My donation went through OurHome SG by winning these 2 items in their auction. An autographed Life is a Game album and limited edition Gai Bian Zi Ji keychain.
