twilight-ing .. again

Yey, finally my Twilight movie book arrived in the mail today from Amazon. It took 2 weeks to get here and I've been so anxious to get my hand on this book. I'm so ready for twilight-ing again this weekend, while waiting for the original DVD to be released ^^

It cost USD10.19 which is very cheap compared to Kino .. even with the shipping fee, Amazon still gives the best price. So I'm happy ..

Pure Coincidence or copy cat?

Lee Hom's fans .. are these pics ring a bell to you at all?

These snapshots were taken from Ungu - Untukmu Segalanya MV, with Christian Sugiono as the model. When I looked at these pics, I immediately think ... sigh another copy cat from Finally or 愛錯 (wrong love) by Lee Hom.

Luckily in Christian's blog, he posted the actual MV, the story is totally different from either Finally or 愛錯 .. phewww!! It's just pure coincidence .. or the director might get the idea of a boxer. But at least it's not the same.

Indo is really famous in copy-catting someone's idea without consent. I hate when that happens, specially me, who deals with intellectual property issues everyday .. (though I'm not denying that I do still buy pirated DVDs ^^ but hey we're not talking about that here).

It happens a lot with local soaps copied from Chinese Series. Meteor Garden was the first Chinese Series that was exactly copied into local soap called "Siapa Takut Jatuh Cinta" .. after few episodes, there were lots and lots of complaints, so the script writer totally changed the storyline which turned out rubbish. It was stopped with weird ending. Until now, there are numerous Chinese series were being copied completely into local soaps, some where written "adapted from .." but mostly not -- probably becos locals don't really watch Chinese Series anymore after Meteor Garden. But still, it doesn't give those people the rights to copy others' works.

Here is the latest copycat done (that I'm aware of) by whoever the director is .. Kerispatih - Demi Cinta, a total copied from Guang Liang's Dong Hua .. so not cool. But who am I to judge?

Chinese or Australian?

I haven't blogged for quite a while .. it's almost the end of January and I only have less than 10 entries. I'll keep up in the next month. I've been so lazy this month and don't have the urge to do anything .. sigh!!

So anyway, we have just celebrated Chinese New Year on 26 January .. entering the OX year. So Happy Niu Year people.

Last week, my Aussie's buddy at work asked me "will you be celebrating Australia Day or Chinese New Year on Monday?" Well, 26 January is also Australian Day .. and he considered me as "half-Australian" -- 'cos we talked heaps heaps of stuffs about Australia .. and most of my closest friends know that I'm still pretty much Australian in some way .. I didn't connect with my Chinese-ness until I got back from Australia, so I was more into Australian than Chinese.

I was never really proud of being Indonesian plus I'm not even pure Indonesian .. and obviously I'm not Australian but I still sometime calls Australia HOME and Chinese -- well, I'm a New-Born Chinese and yes I'm proud of being one now ..

So what does that make me? I'm Indonesian by nationality and law, I'm Chinese by blood and I'm Australian in heart .. just leave it at that for now -- when I figure out later, I'll definitely tell you :D

Flashback: First Encounter

Singapore, April 2006

I've never had anyone so-called an idol that I actually travelled overseas to see them, even back with F4. So this was my first ever experience travelling overseas (even just SG) to see LH.

For this trip, I flew to SG alone and would be meeting few friends up there. LH was (initially) holding autograph session for his Heroes of Earth album, but he injured his wrist for signing too many albums in Malaysia during the promo album earlier, so it was then changed to hand-shake session instead. There wasn't anything too special during the hand-shake session, it happened to fast. He didn't notice anything.

The following day, 30 April 2006 there was a fans gathering event at Junction 8, Bishan .. we were more prepared this time. I asked a friend to make small and emergency banner of Indonesia so just he could notice us.

I reached Junction 8 at around 11 plus. We waited while listening to his interview with Yes 933 FM 'till about 2pm and finally at about 3 plus, LH came up wearing red tee and jeans. The three of us got a quite good place, quite near to the stage, he saw our banner. Peifen interviewed him and he answered some of the fans' questions asked earlier. Finally it's time for fans games .. there were 2 games with fans during this gathering. The 1st one is rapping Zai Mei Bian, LH did the first one and followed by 3 other fans chosen from the crowd. I couldn't do it definitely.

The 2nd game was guessing 8 of LH's songs played by the DJ in pieces. Actually I wrote it down on the back of my sign … but I didn’t really remember what I wrote. After the whole 8 songs were played, Peifen asked who can name the whole 8 songs. Not many people raise their hands … Confidently I raised my Indonesia sign … Peifen then asked LH to pick the fans. I was sure he looked at me, and pointed at my banner, saying "Aisenodni lai de?” Peifen was confused as well, didn’t know what he was saying … they were confused, we were confused, I was confused, ‘coz I was so sure that we was looking at me and then started pointing at my sign but how come he didn't say Indonesia, then I realized I was holding it upside down and I turn it over … he then said “oh, Indonesia.” Then peifen asked to come up … ahhahha … and they were all laughing! Foolish but funny .. moment to remember.

- Aisenodni Lai De .. -

I didn’t know what was I doing, I couldn't remember all the songs I wrote down. I went up with a shaky legs, pumping heart and sweat like pig … it was hot that day. I was on the stage, LH then asked my name, and we shook hand. After that started guessing all the song. Amazingly I remembered all of them, bu ke neng cuo kuo ni, da cheng xiao ai, forever love, gai shi ying xiong, wan mei de hu dong … but I missed wei yi, and went straight to xing cuo … LH was so nice and whispered to me “wei yi” then I remembered wei yi, xing cuo and yi shou jian dan de ge. I couldn't believe it that I got them all right. I was actually holding the sign with the answer at the back, but I know I couldn’t see it ..

After it finished, Peifen then asked me whether I came to Singapore just to see him and I said yes. She also asked why I like lee hom, and I said because he’s so talented. He said “thank you, you’re so sweet!” and he shook my hand again. He gave me the posters, as the gift – I got 4 posters in total but too bad not of them were signed, and we shook hand again, 3 times in total … I actually wanna tell him about ourhome indo, but no words coming out from my mouth, I was speechless!!

Up 'till now, I've close-encountered with him 4 times ... and yet still can't get myself right when I'm with him. When I'm in front of him, all of sudden I can't speak English well, foolish act and most of the time, SPEECHLESS! But it's ok .. I think everyone tends to act foolish in front of their idol LOL.

days .. hours .. minutes .. seconds

Ok, the title might be a little confusing for those of you who don't know what happened .. but this is a true story happened last year and this was what I felt ...

It was exactly last year, January 2008 .. I literary took each days, hours, minutes and seconds anxiously in the first 10 days of the month -- waiting for 11 January 2008, OHI's special moment -- our hero would be coming to greet us for the first time. To be honest, I didn't even enjoy my Christmas and New Year's holiday, it was all about stressing out over something that I didn't even know what to expect.

I was approached by the organizer 2 months earlier, I was in shock from the moment I got the news 'till the very last day. It was OHI's first ever big event .. we were just turning 2 years as an Official Fans Club and we were faced with such big event where our idol himself was gonna be there. There were tons of pressure, stresses, sweats, tears, blood (ok, that probably a little exaggerated ^^), though I wasn't the one in charge, but still the pressure was there. At the end of the day, I was totally exhausted, few hours to the concert, I didn't even have the mood to attend the concert anymore .. that was exactly what I felt.

There were lots of things to do from the first day to the D-day -- from local and international endless promotions and ticket booking, ordering flower arrangement, preparing gifts and goodie bags for the crews, tight deadline, neverending uncertain updates, big payment, money issues, long Q at the bank, shocking news about postponed concerts, dealing with organizer and label company, getting permissions for lots of things, fighting to get priviledge for fans club, endless phone calls and emails (my phone bills exploded) -- to name a few ... yes, these were still FEW of other frantic and crazy things during preparations .. and of course there were other things which were consider "classified" to share with anyone.

I couldn't even talk to my committee members regarding few things, I was only able to share with one person and that person wasn't even here with me (if you reading this, you know who you are -- THANK YOU for being there -- to the person who cannot be named *wink*).

After endless preparations .. the day finally here. Counting down to 11 January, I took 2 days off work 'cos I couldn't even concentrate on anything other than the concert, try to make his and his crew first visit to Jakarta as comfortable and memorable as possible and hoping the fans will be excited and satisfied.

Minutes to go .. his plane arrived, he walked out wearing our official tee, he saw me, he showed me the tee he was wearing under his jacket, he approached me, I smiled and gave him his gift and ......... GASP!!! I froze, no words coming out of my mouth, I simply couldn't believe that he was here, smiling in front of me and "Welcome to Jakarta" that's all I could say .. according to a friend who came with me, he was staring and waiting for me to say something, I didn't, I couldn't, I totally froze! "Have fun or enjoy your stay -- something like that" finally came out as he walked out from the terminal. *Stupid Net, scolding myself!!*

Knowing that we'd be in the same hotel as him calmed me down a little bit. It's not impossible to bump into him somehow someway in the hotel, but I didn't ... 'cos I was stucked in the hotel room with the committees preparing gifts, snacks, goodies for the crew members. I only came across with the band members and dancers few times.

Other than stressing about everything, I was thrilled to have few international friends coming for the concert. On the concert's eve, me and Santi also took them for night supper at Indomie stall across the hotel. This whole fans clubs things have earned me lots and lots of international friends and became my good and close friends, which was amazing!

D-day!! The pressure got worse.. I had adrenalin rush (maybe not a good way to put it). I had a quick meeting with the organizer and LH's assistant to discuss few things before the concert .. which later turned out to be in contrary, more explaining to do. Sigh!! Distributed merchandise and out-towners fans collecting the concert tickets, it was a total madness.

For what it worth despite the stress .. I enjoyed the concert. It was short but the fact that he was there that night with us .. I had fun with the girls and of course amazing times with my international friends the day after the concert.

As Gigi said "11 Januari bertemu ..." it was totally unforgettable moments for us and specially for me.

Just to finish up .. lesson learned, practice makes perfect! This was our first event, there will be more I hope. When that time comes, we'll be ready and more experience in many ways!

when you can live forever, what do you live for?

The quote has been hugely popular around the twilight fans .. I'm not too sure myself what I would actually live for if I can live forever? Hmmmm ...

So after less than a month, I finally finished reading these all 4 books in total of over 2000 pages .. wow, it's truly a new record.

And I proudly to announce that I am now a twilight FREAK .. or better word Addict!! :D I love Edward Cullen, in fact I love all the Cullens Coven including Jacob Black though he's kinda annoying sometimes, but at the end .. he wins my heart afterall.

I'm not too sure whether Stephenie is gonna release her final book "Midnight Sun" due the leakage earlier. But there will another book coming out, the Twilight Saga: The Official Guide .. it's not really a new book, but a complete guide for Twilight fans -- Produced with Stephenie Meyer herself, it includes new material, character profiles, genealogical charts, maps, extensive cross-references, and more. It’s the essential handbook for every Twilight Saga fan. So yes, I'm getting it .. soon if it's coming out.

Ah .. there goes my crazy weeks of Twilight. So what's next?
