I Miss Wollongong

Last day of the month, I finished pretty much everything of my works for the month. I still have another 2 hours to kill before the end of working day, so I thought I browse around the net .. which took me to lovely "home" Wollongong, Australia.

Campus East Hall of Residence was my first home when I arrived in Wollongong in October 1997 and it became my home for 2 years ever since. I visited Campus East last in January 2002 before I went home for good and haven't returned 'till now. When I was there, it only has 4 blocks (Trench Town, Hospital, C and D Blocks) .. now it has 10 blocks, 'till J Blocks .. WOW!!

How I was so amaze looking at the entrance .. amazing!! It definitely didn't look like this when I was there, far far away from this. It has balcony now, on each floor! And for I and J blocks, it has kitchen .. self-catered room. Cool!

This video - the overview of Campus East. This definitely different from what I lived for 2 years. I can't wait to go back there .. I miss Wollongong so bad. Watching this and looking at the brand new Campus East, I feel like crying LOL .. so corny ey, but that's what I feel. I really miss Wollongong so bad. Though I know things won't be the same when I go back there, but the memories remind .. I'm sure :D

Monty Python

This morning I was drowning in my I-pod on the way to work with the song "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" -- which brought me back to Monty Python .. life has been pretty much dull and suck for me this last few months, I'm in the stage of tired with the continuity and daily routine, I want to break free, I need to break free .. but it seems impossible. Anyway, I'm not gonna brag about my dull life. Let's meet Monty Python instead ... :D

Monty Python -- the name might not be too popular in Asia or maybe in States, but they were big in UK and perhaps some of the people still are. Monty Python consists of six brilliant comedians -- they are the late Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin.

John Cleese is the most popular one as he is still exist in Hollywood e-life .. he's known as the genius Q in 2 James Bond's movies and King Arthur in the first and 2nd Harry Potter movies. Eric Idle also did his Hollywood part in doing cover voice for few movies and probably the most recognizable as the Narrator for "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory). As the rest of the team still exist in the entertainment industry. Terry Jones acts as director in British movies.

They created Monty Python's Flying Circus, a British television comedy sketch show that first aired on the BBC on October 5, 1969. Forty-five episodes were made over four series. The Python phenomenon developed from the television series into something larger in scope and impact, spawning touring stage shows, films, numerous albums, several books and a stage musical, and launching the members to individual stardom.
They are one of the British Actors which I can call brilliant. I got to know them from the movies "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" (1975), "Life of Brian" (1979) and "The Meaning of Life" (1983), which I watched them all in Australia and got the hand of the DVDs.

Life of Brian and The Holy Grail are my two favorites though Life of Brian raised huge controversy, as the story was evolved around Jesus Christ. After the success of the Holy Grail, Idle initiate the new idea "Jesus Christ - Lust for Glory", which later became the group's stock answer once they realised that it shut reporters up. Despite being non-believers, they agreed that Jesus was "definitely a good guy" and found nothing to mock in his actual teachings; on the other hand, they shared a distrust of organised religion, and decided to write a satire on credulity and hypocrisy among the followers of someone mistaken for the "Messiah", but who had no desire to be followed as such. Chapman was cast in the lead role of Brian (taken from Wikipedia).

The ending of this movie shown how Jesus was crucified but expressed in funny way. Lesson learned from this movie is that life is tough but "Always look on the Bright Side of Life" as the song plays on ..

Some things in life are bad, they can really make you mad,
Other things just make you swear and curse, when you're chewing life's gristle,
Don't grumble, Give a whistle, and this'll help things turn out for the best.
And...Always look on the bright side of life. Always look on the light side of life.
If life seems jolly rotten, There's something you've forgotten,
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps, don't be silly chumps.
Just purse your lips and whistle, That's the thing.
And...Always look on the bright side of life. Always look on the right side of life,
For life is quite absurd And death's the final word.
You must always face the curtain with a bow. Forget about your sin.
Give the audience a grin. Enjoy it. It's your last chance, anyhow.
So ... Always look on the bright side of death, just before you draw your terminal breath.
Life's a piece of shit, When you look at it.
Life's a laugh and death's a joke it's true.
You'll see it's all a show. Keep 'em laughing as you go.
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.
And...Always look on the bright side of life.
Always look on the right side of life.
Despite its subject matter attracting controversy, it has been ranked amongst the greatest comedy films of all times.

I'm just a KID

I was browsing through kid's section at Metro Department Store couple of weeks ago, looking for gift for my friend's 1 year old son. After I got him cute t-shirt "Rock Baby" and funky pants, I saw this .. baby's pillow with Strawberry Short Cakes design with 30% off.

Did I buy it? Of course! I told you I'm a 5 years old kid stuck in 30 years body. Beside I have to hug something when I sleep .. since I can bring my bolster everywhere, this will do just fine. It can easily fits in my backpack, so I'm set to sleep anywhere, this gonna be my travel buddy. Long flight trip, not a problem! :D

Celcom Ad -- is this new?

Lee Hom has been M.I.A for these past 2 months shooting his latest movie -- 大兵小將, with the one and only Mr. Jackie Chan somewhere in remote cities in China. He made a short appearance in the end of Feb for his gai ban version of Heart.Beat in Taipei.

Seeing this (new) Celcom Ad starring him, make me realize even more than he is truly an inspiration, he's indeed making the best out of his life. Wow!!

"I am tomorrow, I am faster than fast, I am unbeatable!! Adam Strange, whoever you are, you did good job.

Fast and Furious 4

The original gank is reuniting for the latest Fast and Furious movie which coming on US theater on 3 April 2009 .. Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez .. yay!! The last 2 movies were alright, Tokyo Drift was fun though but it was lack the action of Paul and Vin .. they teamed up pretty good in the first movie.

As for the storyline, well I have nothing to expect so far, 'cos the previous 3 Fast and Furious movies were pretty standard, it's all about fast cars and racing -- it's gonna be adrenaline rush for sure. It's gonna be good.

More good and entertaining movies to come .. I think I have to start making a list of "Must-see Movies 2009"

Pray For Me

I just recently came across this song again, I totally forgot about this (I guess deep down inside I don't want to remember) -- this song has helped me get through my toughest time of being out of love .. the bold part "The hardest part of love is letting go" is absolutely true .. not only if we lose our boyfriend/girlfriend, but everytime you lose someone you love, the hardest part is letting go ... but time will heal for sure and the greater love will never leave us.
So please pray for me .. and I'll pray for you. Enjoy the song :D
Here is where the road divides
Here is where we realize
The sculpting of the fathers great design
Thru time you've been a friend to me
But time is now the enemy
I wish we didn't have to say goodbye
But I know the road he chose for me is not the road he chose for you
So as we chase the dreams were after
Chorus:
Pray for me and I'll pray for you
Pray that we will keep the common ground
Won't you pray for me and I'll pray for you
And one day love will bring us back around again
Painted on our tapestry
We see the way it has to be
Weaving thru the laughter and the tears
But love will be the tie that binds us
To the time we leave behind us
Memories will be our souvenirs
And I know that thru it all
The hardest part of love is letting go
But theres a greater love that holds us

Malaysia, here I come

LH has finally announced his concert in KL, which will be on 2 May 2009 .. this is my most anticipated trip this year. I have never been to Malaysia, so I take this opportunity to travel and explore the city at the same time. From now on, my overseas trip would be 2 in 1 trip ^^ .. mostly at least. Plus I get to see Ling and the other Msian girls again, it's been more than a year since the last time we see each other, and also seeing the thai girls after over 2 years. My encounter with the thai girls in SG back in 2007 was very brief, hopefully we get to hang out longer this time.

I'm gonna spend 5 days 4 nights in KL .. will explore KL city, getting to cable car to reach Genting, and up to Petronas tower. And of course the Music-Man himself .. I'm so excited!! :D

The trip is still about 2 months to go, yet it feels like next week. Me and Ling have been talking and planning about it on our daily emails. I even know what to order for dinner on the night I arrive .. this is my most well-planned overseas trip ever *big hugsz to Ling*. Even when I went to Taiwan wasn't this planned.

- flight ticket -- check
- hotel -- check
- concert ticket -- check
- cash money -- check
- itinerary -- well planned (it won't be 100% fixed, it can change)

I'm good to go .. see you soon all.

Push!

This movie wasn't in my list of 'have-to-see' movies, but I love Chris Evans, known as Johnny Storm from Fantastic Four and Dakota Fanning .. brilliant young actress. So I decided to watch. Overall, it was an OK movie but the effect was good .. the story goes around some people with extraordinary gift .. A group of young American ex-pats with telekinetic and clairvoyant abilities are hiding from a clandestine U.S. government agency. They must utilize their different talents and band together for a final job enabling them to escape the agency forever.

Chris Evans played Nick Gant with the telekinetic ability and Dakota Fanning played the "Watcher" where she can see the future, together they have to get rid of the "Pusher" who can control people's mind.

For sci-fi fans, this is recommended .. it's entertaining and Chris Evans ... delicious :)
